Overview: The feeling at Galley Bay is one of solitude and seclusion, an exclusive retreat perfect for the most discriminative traveler! The resort is on Five Islands which is a short 5 minute drive to Capital St. Johns where you will find excellent shopping whether its for simple souvenirs or for exquisite duty-free shopping. Indeed, Galley Bay’s 70 rooms are nestled in 40 acres of beautiful gardens with a historic windmill, a lagoon, bird sanctuary and a very private 3/4 mile white-sand beach. You would imagine that you would feel lost in a 40-acre resort, however, on arrival you are whisked to your room in a golf cart and all of the amenities and rooms are within quick walking distance. Galley Bay offers a variety of accommodations most of which offer beach views like the Premium Beachfront Suite, Deluxe Beachfront and Superior Beach Front. The Gauguin Cottages take their inspiration from Tahiti and have a garden or lagoon view. The Gauguin Cottages were renovated in 2004 making a great room category even better with the addition of a plunge pool. All guest rooms have air conditioning, terra-cotta tiled floors, louvered windows, ceiling fans, mini refrigerators, hair dryers, coffee machines, in-room safes, king beddings, bathrooms with showers (tubs in the Premium rooms), direct-dial telephones and colour cable televisions.
